Contract Negotiations are underway between Local 2026 and CHS.
Here are the highlights:
- Initially our Union Proposed: 4% per year raise, and 2% step ladder increase.
- Company Response: 1% per year raise, and 0.5% step ladder increase.
- Union Negotiation Team run out of ideas on how to negotiate without threatening a strike.
- Members were asked to authorize the strike.
- The strike authorization has been issued to assist the union negotiation team.
- Further negotiations will be conducted through a mediator.
- Old Contract extended till November 30th.
- Still no progress. Old Contract extended till December 15th. Next negotiation session – December 2, 2015.
- Our negotiation team is now asking for 3% raise, and the CHS is offering 1.25%. In addition, the CHS wants to add a “layoff” clause to our contract (right to layoff RNs as they see fit). Next negotiation session – December 15, 2015.
- December 15 – No progress. Next session in February of 2016.
- February 24th Update – No progress. Next session on March 29th.
